Services during semester break
Office
Our office will be closed from 1 to 5 p.m. on December 21 and from December 26 through January 1, 2024.
We will resume regular hours on January 2, 2024.
All online services will remain available throughout semester break.
Parking Enforcement
CH and ST zones will not be enforced from December 16 to January 12, except for Game Days. Enforcement in these zones will resume on January 15.
Game Day parking restriction for men's and women's basketball games will remain active.
All other zones will be enforced from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m from December 16 to December 22 and January 2 to January 12.
Enforcement will be suspended from December 26 to 29 in all zones.
Parking Garages
Gated parking garages hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from December 18 to 22 and January 2 to 5, 2024. During December 25 to 29, all gates will be raised.
Motorist Assistance
This Fleet Services program will be accessible from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 18 to 22 and January 2 to 5, 2024. Please note that no assistance will be provided from December 25 to 29.

Spring garage permits available to purchase
Beginning Friday, December 1 at 12 midnight garage permits for the spring semester will be available for purchase through the IU Parking Portal. These permits will be sold on a first-come basis and cost $250, paid through the Bursar.
Participating garages include:
- Poplars: 415 E. Sixth Street
- Henderson: 310 S. Fess Avenue
- Atwater: 921 E. Atwater Avenue
- Forrest Ave.: 1015 E. Eleventh Street
If your preferred garage is not listed in the portal, it means all the permits have been purchased. You may select another garage or email prkauctn@iu.edu from your IU email address to be added to the waitlist for that garage. In your email list your garage choice and include your IUID number. Once you purchase a garage permit, your name will be removed from all waitlist.
Spring garage permits will not be mailed and must be picked up in-person from our office beginning January 2, 2024.
Changes to the East Garage
The Office of Parking Operations has reorganized parking zones at the East Garage located on Eagleson Avenue to improve the flow of traffic at that location and lessen confusion about the location of EM-P and EM-S parking spaces.
Beginning July 1:
- All EM-P spaces move to the ground level of the garage.
- All EM-S and guest spaces move to the top floor of the garage.
- EM-S spaces are not located in the second and third rows of the upper level. Hourly pay parking is located around the perimeter and first row.EM-S spaces are not located in the second and third rows of the upper level. Hourly pay parking is located around the perimeter and first row.
Hourly parking rates at the East Garage location have changed. The hourly rate will become $3 an hour and the maximum daily rate will be $30. Event parking will remain unchanged.
Regional Academic Health Center
Transportation to and from the Regional Academic Health Center (RHAC) and Health Sciences Building is available on Route E on Monday – Friday and the CM Route on weekends. Additional student parking is available along this route at the Redbud parking lot. University employees and students on university business should not park in the hospital parking spaces.
