Permits that have been paid for in full (semester, academic year, or annual) may be returned for a prorated refund of the remaining months valid for the permit.
Refunds are calculated based on the date you return your permit.
Permits that are returned after the 5th of the month will receive a refund for the remaining paid months following the month of the return.
Physical hangtags can be returned by email. From your IU email account, send an email to askpark@iu.edu indicating your intent for the permit to be returned, and including two photos – one of the permit whole, and the second of the permit cut into 4-5 pieces. Virtual permits that do not have a physical hangtag may be returned using our online form.
No refund will be issued if your permit is not returned. Parking Operations will not provide a refund if your permit is revoked for fraudulent use.
