Parking Facilities

Where to park on campus

Whether you work or study here every day, or are just visiting, we have several parking locations and options available. 

Use the Bloomington map to search for different parking locations based on your specific needs. To narrow your search, click the arrow next to 'Parking' to specify the type of parking you wish to see.

Holidays

Unless posted otherwise, parking is free on:

  • New Year's Day (January 1)
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day (July 4)
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Friday after Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day (December 25)

Meters

Parking in metered spaces is free from 10 p.m. on Friday through 7 a.m. on Monday, unless otherwise posted.

 

Parking garages

Unless otherwise posted, parking is free in the garages beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.

On weekdays, EM-S, CH, ST, Evening and Garage permits are permitted to park any in garage when swiping for entry beginning at 5pm, unless otherwise posted. Vehicles that enter prior to 5pm will be required to pull a ticket to enter and full payment for the duration of stay will be required upon exit.

Surface lots

These lots are free to anyone on weekday evenings after 5 p.m. over the weekend. Enforcement begins at 7 a.m. Monday–Friday.

  • Lot #402: corner of Sixth and Dunn streets

University breaks and Labor Day

Parking in an CH or ST zone is free through semester, spring, and Thanksgiving breaks, as well as Labor Day.

 

Weekends

Other than home game days, any vehicle with or without a permit, may park in any CH or ST spaces from 5 p.m. on Friday until 11 p.m. on Sunday, unless otherwise posted.

Lots near the athletic facilities are restricted on home game days during football and basketball seasons.
