Parking for events on campus will affect parking zones and rules. If you will be on campus during an event, please follow the directions of event staff and law enforcement.
Event Parking
Game Day Parking
Special parking rules apply when IU football and men's basketball games are played at home that affect student permit holders. Vehicles must be moved by 6 p.m. the day before all home football and men's basketball games. All vehicles that remain may be ticketed and towed.
Football
There is no student parking in the IU Athletics parking lots on home football game days. Vehicles must be removed from all parking lots north of 17th Street adjacent to Assembly Hall and Memorial Stadium, as well as lot 227 on 17th Street, by 6 p.m. the day before the game.
Vehicles—with or without a permit—may park in the CH spaces every weekend from 5 p.m. Friday until 11 p.m. Sunday, unless otherwise posted.
Basketball
For basketball games on Monday – Friday nights, any vehicle with a valid CH or ST permit may park without paying Event Parking when entering before 5 p.m. as follows:
- White Lot via Gate 8 - NO OVERNIGHT PARKING regulations still apply.
- Purple Lot via Gates 9 and 10 - Overnight parking is available.
The event parking fee for all permit holders will be applicable upon entry beginning at 5 p.m.
For Saturday and Sunday basketball games, any vehicle with a valid CH or ST permit may remain parked the White or Purple lots or in any CH space beginning at 5 p.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Sunday, unless otherwise posted. The event parking fee for all permit holders will be applicable beginning 3 hours before scheduled game time/tip off.
Permits for football and men's basketball games
Permits for parking at the stadium during IU football and men's basketball games must be purchased through the IU Athletics ticket office. For more information about parking at Memorial Stadium on game days, visit the IU Athletics website.
IU Auditorium and other Arts Event Parking
Auditorium permits (AU) are available to purchase at the Parking Operations office. The AU permit allows you to park free of charge in any non-24-hour EM-P, EM-S, or ST space on evenings and weekends for any event at the IU Auditorium, Musical Arts Center, IU Cinema, or IU Theatre. Free parking and shuttle service for IU Auditorium
Free parking in the following garages and shuttle service to and from the IU Auditorium is offered on the nights of most performances:
- Henderson garage (310 S. Fess Avenue)
- Poplars garage (Sixth Street and Dunn)

Special event parking for IU Auditorium
Special event parking for IU Auditorium shows taking place Monday through Thursday is available at the East garage. A fee of $10 will be collected at the garage entrance unless you have a valid IU permit. There is no fee to exit the garage.
