Leaving your car on Campus Over Break?

Know where you can and cannot leave it parked!

If you will be leaving a vehicle parked on campus during the semester break there are several places that you can park.

Overnight/Storage Parking will be available beginning Wednesday, December 14 at 7 a.m. until January 8, 2023 at 11 p.m. in:

  • All CH zones
  • ST zones on Eagleson Avenue, Linglebach Lane, Union Street, and Redbud Apartment lot # 128, only.
  • Stadium White and Purple lots

The Hoosiers will play at home three times during the semester break on:

  • Tuesday, December 20 at 7 p.m.
  • Friday, December 23 at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 8 at 12 noon

For these games vehicles parked in the Blue, Green, and Orange lots must be removed by 6 p.m. the day before game. Read more about game day parking.

If you will be leaving a vehicle on campus during the break, you may wish to purchase parking at the Atwater, Henderson, or Poplars garages for $90 for December 14–January 8, 2023. To secure a space in a garage, please visit the parking office at the Henderson Parking Garage, 310 S. Fess Avenue. The office is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Update: Spring Semester Garage Permits

A limited number of permits for the Henderson, Atwater, and Forrest Avenue Garages are now available for the spring semester. The Semester Garage permit will be $250.

To request one of these permits, email us with your IU username, university ID number and garage preference or preferences in order of desirability. You will receive a reply to confirm a successful bid as long as space remains in your garage of choice(s). We will update our website when all permits are requested for each garage. Purchase of an offered permit will be available to be completed through the Parking Portal starting January 1, 2023.

Permits for the Poplars Garage will be also be available for purchase starting January 1, 2023 through the Parking Portal.

Blue Lot Enforcement and Restrictions

Parking enforcement in the Blue Lot near Gladstein Fieldhouse and Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall began Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Student (ST) permits and Campus Housing (CH) permits will not be honored in the Blue Lot sections D and F. ST and CH permits may only park in Section E. The sections are identified by red and white banners hanging from the light poles.

Game Day Parking

Game day parking permits for the lots near the stadium must be purchased through IU Athletics ticket office.

University parking permits are not valid in these lots on game days. All vehicles must be removed by 6 p.m. the day before the game. This includes all athletic lots north of 17th Street and adjacent to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall and Memorial Stadium, as well as lot 227 on 17th Street.

Unless posted otherwise, Campus Housing (CH) parking lots are open to any vehicle from 5 p.m. on Fridays through 11 p.m. on Sundays.
