Contractors who need to park on campus may choose to use visitor parking facilities or purchase a special permit. These permits are not available to purchase online.

Construction permits
These permits are only available on a limited quantity basis as needs are determined by Capital Planning and Facilities. Contact the team leader of your project for additional information.
All individuals visiting a construction site in a business or private vehicle are required to have a valid permit to park on campus. Construction permits are issued annually from September through August, for specified durations as determined by the project timeline through the team leader.
Contractors who are eligible but choose not to purchase a construction permit must use metered parking, or a pay parking facility, or purchase a daily visitor parking permit. Representatives of construction businesses conducting personal business with IU employees or students are not eligible for a construction permit.
Construction permits are sold in the Parking Operations office and will be issued in a business name, and will require the individual user’s name and plate number to be provided at the time of purchase. Payment options available include cash, check, or credit card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa), or direct billing with provided authorization from the purchasing business.
