Free parking program for occasional commuters

Hoosier Commuter Club (HCC) is a free parking program for eligible Indiana University Bloomington employees who drive to campus occasionally. It's designed for employees who usually commute by bus, bike, walking, carpool, rideshare, or hybrid work instead of purchasing a traditional annual parking permit.

Who can join Hoosier Commuter Club?

You are eligible if you are:

  • A full-time faculty or staff member
  • An associate instructor
  • A part-time non-student staff member

Graduate students, undergraduate students, and temporary employees are not eligible.

What parking areas can I use?

On days you activate an HCC permit, you may park in the employee parking areas authorized for your permit.

After 5 p.m., park in any non-24-hour parking location. Review current evening parking regulations before parking.

What is Emergency Ride Home?

Emergency Ride Home is included with your membership.

If you experience a qualifying emergency during the workday—such as a personal illness, family emergency, or unexpected transportation disruption—you may be eligible for transportation assistance to get home.

Can I leave and rejoin Hoosier Commuter Club?

Yes. If you leave Hoosier Commuter Club and purchase a standard employee parking permit, you must wait until the next annual permit cycle to rejoin.

Example:

  • Join HCC for the 2026–27 permit year.
  • Purchase a standard employee permit during that permit year.
  • Rejoin HCC when permits renew for the following permit year.
