IU-Bloomington Electric Vehicle Charging
Parking for Electric Vehicles at IU
Electric Vehicle Charging (EVC) is now available on the IU Bloomington campus. As a state institution, IU is not allowed to generate revenue from the sale of electricity or provide electricity at no cost. Therefore, IU permit holders who have an electric hybrid or total electric vehicle and would like to be able to charge their vehicle while on campus may opt to purchase a supplement EVC permit. Visitors may charge when parked in a gated garage, and are paying the stated hourly rate for parking.
Electric Vehicle Chargers are located in the following locations:
- Cyberinfrastructure Building (valid Employee permit is required)
- Henderson Parking Garage
- Atwater Parking Garage
- Jordan Parking Garage
- Fee Lane Parking Garage
Currently, EVC permits are only available for purchase in the Parking Operations office. EVC permits are $36.00 in addition to the rate of any other purchased permit.
Vehicle charging is limited to 4 hours/day and any vehicle parked in a charging space must be actively charging.
