General Information

The evening and weekend parking rule - any permit

Vehicles must display a current IU parking permit, and may park in any non-24 hour space after 5 p.m. until 7 a.m., Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend parking rule - D and E zones

Any vehicle may park in any D or E zone, 5 p.m. Friday until 11 p.m. Sunday, with or without a parking permit.

Parking garages

Parking is free in the parking garages all day Saturday and Sunday. Vehicles bearing a valid 'C', 'D', 'E', 'F', or any garage permit may park in any garage for free when entering after 5 p.m. until 7 a.m., unless posted otherwise. These vehicles must take a ticket and pay for any hours between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Stadium Parking

Football - Game Day Parking

Parking Permits for IU football game attendees need to be purchased through the IU Athletics Ticket Office. For more information on Stadium parking facilities, please refer to the IU Athletics Game Day Parking page.

Students: Football Game Parking Requirements

ALL vehicles must be removed from the Athletic Department parking lots north of 17th Street adjacent to Memorial Stadium and Assembly Hall by 6 p.m. on the day before each home football game. Vehicles that remain in the lot may be ticketed and towed. There is no student parking in the Athletic Department parking lots on the day of Home Football Games. Any vehicle, with or without a permit, may park in any D space from Friday at 5 p.m. until Sunday at 11 p.m.

Students: Basketball Game Parking Requirements

ALL vehicles must be removed from the Athletic Department parking lots north of 17th Street adjacent to Assembly Hall by 6 p.m. the day before each home Men's basketball game. Any vehicle not removed may be ticketed and towed. There is no student parking in the parking lots adjacent to Assembly Hall on the day of Home Basketball Games.

Weekend Parking: For Saturday and Sunday basketball games, any vehicle, with or without a permit, may park in any D space.

Week Night Parking: For week night basketball games, students may park on the west side of Memorial Stadium, if entering the lot before Game Day Operations takes control of the lot.

Auditorium Parking

Auditorium Permits

Auditorium (AU) permits for 2013-2014 are available for purchase at the Parking Operations Office for $30/year (this price is subject to change annually). The 'AU' permit will allow you to park free of charge in any A, C, or E space on evenings and weekends of any Auditorium or IU Theater event.

Auditorium Shuttle Service

Free parking and shuttle service to and from the Auditorium is offered on the nights of most performances from:

  • Atwater Garage (located at the corner of Atwater and Faculty Avenue)
  • Poplars Garage (located on Sixth St. and Dunn)

Special Event Parking

Special Event parking will be held at the Jordan Avenue garage for Auditorium shows held on Monday through Thursday nights. $7.00 will be collected at the gates of this garage for any patron who does not have a valid IU permit. No fee will be due upon exiting.

Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) Parking Lots

The Indiana Memorial Union has two pay lots. Lot 1 is located immediately to the east of the building. Lot 2 is located to the north, just across Seventh Street. Overnight guests of the IMU Biddle Hotel and Conference Center enjoy complimentary parking. Please visit the IMU website for parking details.
